Ignite: Your Sense Of Giving

Acts of kindness are happening around you everyday! I saw this video a while back and still to this day, after watching it over 10 times, I still cry. It's astounding the kindness that is shown from those who don't even have anything to really give! As you watch this video ignite that giving nature within you again, being a blessing to others is what will transform your life into a blessing.

Ignite: Your Sense Of Self

We all struggle with really feeling like we know ourselves right? I think one of society's biggest issues lies in not really knowing ourselves on a deep level. We align ourselves with standards set by others, views held by others, customs, traditions, and prejudices others have. We tend to pick up terrible concepts and weave them into our own lives, our own worlds. Such as racism, body shaming, sexism, and more. These are totally unhealthy and cause such upset in our inner beings. But more so they keep us from knowing WHO WE REALLY ARE and WHAT WE REALLY THINK and ultimately WHAT WE REALLY WANT out of this life. So today I share with you an amazing video with the awesome and enlightened Deepak Chopra, who on more than one occasion has inspired me.

Hope the video ignite's your sense of self and helps you with whatever obstacles you face in your life that stem from the desire to really know who you are on all levels.

30 Years Wise: How To Grow Up At 30

Well today I am 30 years young, can you all believe it? I feel like I am entering my 30th year with kind a few bags of sadness, fear, and confusion on my back. I was hoping that when the day came I would feel lite as a feather and serene. Truth is, life just isn't like that. We will always begin to have doubts and concerns about what lay ahead, trick is accepting that as being perfectly ok, because once you stop being angry with yourself about your own emotions, they don't have the steering wheel anymore, you do and now they are just passengers.

Passengers in a vehicle that is driving to each needed destination to drop them off and empty the car till the only needed person is the one behind the wheel...YOURSELF completely. I enter this next decade in my life with lots of knowledge, wisdom, love, and experience. I enter this year with new hope and understanding of who I am and what I really want from life. Do I have life all figured out yet? NOPE. Kinda makes me laugh thinking about how many adults in their 30's put on a charade for me growing up, as if they knew all there was to know about life and had everything down to a science. LOL

I'm glad I have concerns about who I am, because it means there is much more to discover. I am glad I've not realized all my dreams yet, because what would there be left worthy of the thrill of such a chase? I'm grateful for the fear and uncertainty because it means I am human, and I am growing, and growing is one of the scariest, invigorating, disheartening, and beautiful things you can ever do in this life. We are always growing, the rate at which we grow depends solely on how hard we fight the process.

This year will be marked with many growing periods that I will remember and honor for the rest of my physical journey. Confidence and a growing sense of true freedom will also mark this year in my personal history book. 2 years ago, I was a depressed, broken, wounded girl who did terrible things in the name of suffering and tried to manipulate love out of anyone who would give it to me. I was in a constant state of belief that life was just HAPPENING TO ME. Then I discovered a truth, it was not through good friends, though they are precious beyond measure and in abundance in my life, it was not through a church sermon, though I still see the beauty in that even though you have to squint to see it sometimes haha, it was INSIDE OF ME, the entire time.

"You're the only one who holds the key to your healing." thats an amazing quote from Angel Haze <3 I truly did hold the key to my healing, the elixir to my sickness, I was the answer to my prayer, the divine to my natural. I discovered this through a grieving period, in which unlike most of us, I finally decided to really take the time. I broke down into the grief process, I grieved my ex girlfriend fully, not allowing anyone around me to dictate what that grief should look like, feel like, or how long it should last. I allowed myself to really feel it, instead of pretending it wasn't there and shoving it down like we so often do. It was in that grieving that I discovered I was healing myself, by allowing myself to be real with me, I was literally going back through years of pain and grieving for real, for the first time.

Grieve properly my loves, that's one of the keys to an amazing life. Find out what that looks like for you, and find some trusted professionals who understand what it means, and go with it...let it flow till you are stronger and more at peace. Another piece of sound advice, you will never find what you are looking for outside of yourself. It sounds cliche but it is so true. No one can love you, heal you, help you, or be good to you like YOU can be. When you are fully loving yourself, it will be so easy to love others in a more enlightened manner. How do you love yourself? Well truly adore you, treat yourself as if you were in love, fall in love with you. In the past 5 years I have done many things.

From 25 to now I have experienced so much. I lived in Nashville for 2 years, I toured the entire country by myself twice for 8 long months, nothing but a guitar and some hope, I came out as bisexual, I was denied Christmas dinner the first year my mother knew, My father got diagnosed with cancer and beat it, my mother got diagnosed with cancer and we are all fighting for her, I fell in love with a woman who had a pill abuse problem and a self identifying problem, and I gave up my virginity to her. Yep thats right, 29 was the year I finally made the leap. lol Still need to do that with a man, but I am not pimping myself out just yet haha.

It was painful losing my ex, but in all her horribleness, in all the abuse I suffered at her hand...I found something extraordinary. I found God. (DON'T STOP READING, let me explain) I'd always believed I was a christian, I even used to be quite the bible belter haha, but it wasn't till I stopped caring what God thought of me that I truly met with him, her, them face to face. When I let go of the worry he wouldn't love me, and decided I didn't need anyone else's love but mine, clear as a bell it rang inside me...I am deity. I am the divine and the divine is me. God and humans are not a separate thing. So my last and final piece of advice, let go of all the things you believe you have to be, because of others expectations, because of a God's holiness, because of where you live, grew up, or where you can make the most money...let it all go and just ask yourself an honest question and really examine the answer you give...this will take a process of really digging deep beyond the lies you've told yourself, and ask yourself "Who do I really want to be?" As this 30th year breaks forth, I will be mindful of asking myself that again and again and again. Happy Birthday Francey, this one's gunna be the best yet <3

Don't Mask Your Inner Fire

Hey Francey Frans! As you all know I am a lil bit artsy fartsy, so today I decided I would share my own 3 favorite art pieces hanging in my apartment!

This one is called "Show Girl" and it was inspired by a woman I know who is a stripper. She is not a very content person, I don't think being a stripper has anything to do with that, but I wanted to explore the drastic differences between the mask we put on and the inner demons we hide. I used a lot of physical pieces on the canvas which is a common thing for me. I also used spray paint, which is my favorite type of paint to use when creating a piece.
This piece was a collaboration, a friend of mine had thrown this canvas out after sticking the stones and crayons and some sand to it. She said she didn't like it and gave up. I asked her to please give it to me and I would make something awesome out of it. So I starred at the piece for almost 30 minutes one morning at about 5am while everyone else slept. Then I grabbed some spray paint, some more sand, and the spray glue and I went to creating. I imagined the internal force inside me that is one with the universe, the pure creator, the one eye we all see with into the cosmos. And this was born, I call it "Inner Vortex"
The last piece I am gunna share today is called "Autumn Fire"
I LOVE THE FALL! It's my favorite season. So it was natural for me to create this. I use a lot of leaves and gold and orange in a good bit of my art work. I also love TREES. So I went out and got some real bark from a tree, spray painted the canvas, and took some leaves from the fake branches you can buy at any craft store and went to work. I do love this piece no matter how simple and pinteresty it is. :)

Till next time lovers

Francey Silhouette

So as I said before I love art. I even started an art society club here in Morgantown, WV called SNAE or Saturday Night Art Explosion. We choose one saturday a month and we drink wine, spray paint, sculpt, knit, cook, whatever the groups feels like doing because the motto or the philosophy of the group is that art is subjective and is based on the person's creative desires.
Anyway I recently started working on this piece as a goodbye present for my parents when I move to Portland, OR this coming Fall. The silhouette is of me in first grade. I spray painted the canvas with an abstractual design, placed the cut out in the center and I am hot gluing the flower and some gems on it. I hope they like it. My relationship hasn't always been good with my parents but as I got older I realized that my parents are a product of the things they went through. In forgiving them, I opened up a new way to appreciate them even when they act CRA! lol Tell me whatcha think. Do any of you like art? What kind of art do you prefer?

Bottelabras! Yes I made up that word...

These are called BOTTELABRAS! I am an artsy fartsy kinda gal and my fav way to create art is by using stuff that most people throw out, mainly beer, wine, and liquor bottles...no I am not a drunk. But I do have an awesome Etsy store you can go visit sometime if you're ever in the mood to peruse the internet for amazing one of kind FUNCTIONAL art pieces, jewelry, and decor ;) The Drunken Artist
I have a couple pieces up so far and plan on posting a lot more over the next few weeks!
ps. Guess what you can do with my Bottelabras...
Amazing right? Well there is more where that came from my #FranceyFriends :)

There is no Arizona...

When I lived in Phoenix, Arizona some of my very best pals just happened to be who I consider the world's most gifted poets. We'd attend this amazing open mic called pink slip, I'd play my guitar and my buds would hash out rhymes and emotions I didn't even know anyone could dig down deep enough to find.
(from left to right: Jason Lalli, Cutie *he was to me anyway haha*, me, and Flipside)
These men were true travelers, people who navigated through words like exploring another planet.

Then afterwards we'd pile into someone's car, head down to an open parking lot, grab some drums and light a fire in a bin, pass around a few brewskis and jam. I'd play my guitar and share my lyrics and these beautiful men would lift me up in amazing ways. Poetry, music, thoughts, feelings...it was like being in a magical dream where art was the language spoken by everyone and the world somehow knew peace beyond reason. You didn't even have to like the poetry or the music to absolutely love where you were.
And even more surprising was the amount of compassion you found yourself tucked safely in.

These people started out as strangers just hours ago and now here you were at their mercy, fully trusting, without any real credit to that trust and yet as you walked/drove home that night, knowing you'd forgotten to get everyone's numbers, you would feel the sting kindred to that of losing a family member whom you are certain you may never see again, but yet somehow inside that sting, the experience sirened on, reminding you that this night, this one night, changed everything for you.
It was in Arizona that I became a campaign trail blazer for Ron Paul, one of the most inspiring men I have ever had the privilege to learn from. And it was there in Mesa on that very day that I realized how smart I really am. I found my wisdom.
It was there I left a real mark on the world...
It was there I rediscovered my love of history at Montezuma's Castle in the sandstone mountains and there I first began to embrace the fact that I was indeed a bisexual woman...
It was there I leaped just high enough to touch the top of the world itself.
However it was also in Arizona that a deep seated insecurity that I had long left buried down by jokes, extra feats of trying to prove myself, and all the "I'm fines" someone can push into one conversation that I also became haunted by 2 lies that I continued to repeat to myself over and over again for years (just now really starting to overcome it)
I'M NOT BEAUTIFUL.
I'M NOT ENOUGH.
These lies were like termites inside of me, eating away all the good things. The passion for politics without corruption, the love of words and song that could change souls, the wisdom of history long passed, and the very top of the world that had been so easy for me to grasp before, suddenly slipped right out of my UGLY, SHITTY, WORTHLESS, NOT GOOD ENOUGH HANDS.
I had help in this disaster, accomplices, some of them I even called "family"...
"How many singers do you actually see that are fat? I mean at least not the popular ones."
"You just need to lose a few pounds and then you will feel great about yourself."
"If you are gay you will go to hell, please tell me you're not really gay?"
"You love the gays more than Christians! God is very angry with you and he needs you to repent."
These words were more than hard to swallow, they were choking me, cutting off the desperately needed air supply I needed...MY OWN SELF LOVE.
Please watch this wonderful spoken word artist named Melissa May describe an atrocity that happens all to often to some of the most beautiful women I know...

It has been a long uphill battle since I left the desert for the familiar sweet smell of the mountains in my birth home of Morgantown, WV...and those lies still creep around, they still tackle me to the ground, but the difference now...I get back up. No one, no one can make you see how beautiful and good enough you are, but YOU. I just hope fellow travelers that your journey to knowing that your value is intrinsic starts today...

huh? I'm sorry, I'm cute as hell! ;)

And they called it puppy love

The things I love and the things that inspire me vary from day to day, moment to moment, second to second. I have such a hodge podge mix of likes and dislikes. To try and categorize them all would be futile and exhausting so let's just start with one of my life's greatest passions and inspirations...
Her name is Abby :) Or officially Abigail Sophia Winchester ;) name inspired by my 2 favorite demon hunting brothers from sexyville USA! And why not? Look at them...I mean will ya just look at em! ;) hehe
*drooling in progress* ahem...ummm sorry, back to my life's greatest passion over here lol ABBY!
Abby loves the crook of my neck, it's her favorite place to cuddle. She also has to sleep right against my skin at night under the blankets. If I am wearing a big enough t-shirt, she will even crawl up my back under the t-shirt and curl herself into a ball. She likes to burrow out little nesting places for herself, half the time she must be convinced she's a bird...the other half, a much bigger dog. haha.
My angel has a personality all her own. She is loving and friendly but would knife a bitch if they hurt her Mama! She's never petty and always thinks I am beautiful. ;) At least that's what she tweeted yesterday....honest. #ByeFelicia
Ok so I am creepily in love with my dog, so what? There are worse things in the world to be right? Like...like...a Senator. ;)
So do any of you have fur babies who inspire you?
